Maite Morales

Maite Morales, Ph.D., is the Program Manager of CasaCuba at Florida International University.
Dr. Morales is responsible for creating and executing public and educational programs that support CasaCuba’s vision and mission. Her scholarly interests and areas of expertise include modern Cuban history, memory, gender, material culture, and consumption. Her work has received support from the Tinker Foundation, the Morris and Anita Broad Fellowship, the Eliana Rivero Research Scholarship at the Cuban Research Institute (FIU), and the Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Florida.
She earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in History at FIU. She also holds a B.A. in English and History from FIU. She defended her doctoral dissertation, titled "The Cuban Revolution's Emotive Regime: A Decade to Remember, 1968–1978," in 2020.
