Application Deadline: March 2, 2015

The Cuban Research Institute (CRI), the Latin American and Caribbean Center (LACC), and the Florida International University Libraries are pleased to request applications for the 2015 Díaz-Ayala Library Travel Grants. These awards are offered in honor of Cristóbal Díaz-Ayala, the prominent music collector and independent scholar who donated his Cuban and Latin American Popular Music Collection to FIU in 2001. The grants can be used to study any of the library collections related to Cuba and its diaspora at FIU.

The grants provide scholars and graduate students the opportunity to visit the special collections and archives at the FIU Green Library, thereby enhancing its value as a national resource. LACC, CRI, and the FIU Libraries are offering three research stipends of up to $1,500 each to offset the costs of a minimum one-week stay to use the collections. The current funding cycle will cover research travel during the spring and early summer of 2015.

Completed applications are due in the CRI office (DM 445) no later than 5:00 pm, Monday, March 2, 2015. To submit your application via email, write cri@fiu.edu. Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.
