Ninth Conference on Cuban and Cuban-American Studies

Deadline to submit proposals for papers and panels: February 1, 2013

The Cuban Research Institute (CRI) at Florida International University continues its tradition of convening scholars engaged in the study of Cuba and Cuban-Americans by announcing its Ninth Conference. The event, to be held at FIU's Graham Center on May 23-25, 2013, will be cosponsored by the African & African Diaspora Studies Program, the Center for the Humanities in an Urban Environment, the Exile Studies Program, and WPBT2.

The main theme of the conference, Dispersed Peoples: The Cuban and Other Diasporas, invites comparisons between the Cuban experience and that of many other groups that live outside their homelands—from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean, from Mexico to the Southern Cone of South America, from Israel to China.
