CubaNostalgia is a three-day event showcasing Cuban life, customs, and heritage through exhibits, vendors selling Cuban theme items, and memorabilia, art galleries, and artists. The event also features music stores, jewelry stores, bookstores, and traditional Cuban food and drinks.

This year's CubaNostalgia was dedicated to the Cuban singer Celia Cruz. Celia, who visited CubaNostalgia several times, took Cuban and Latin American music to a whole new level all around the world. The event was held on May 16–18 at the Expo Fair on Coral Way and SW 112 Ave. in Miami.

The CRI/FIU kiosk at CubaNostalgia featured a collection of Celia's record covers and a complete chronology of her discography, courtesy of the Díaz-Ayala Cuban and Latin American Popular Music Collection at the FIU Libraries. Visitors were also able to play a game of domino and get a free copy of the FIU poster commemorating Celia's life.
