The Cuban Research Institute (CRI) is proud to announce that Anigladys Mesa earned a B.A. Summa Cum Laude from FIU's Department of Politics & International University this spring. Anigladys was the founding president of the Cuban American Student Organization (CASO), which was established in September 2013 and collaborates closely with the organization of CRI's public events.

Born in Havana, Cuba, Anigladys graduated with honors from South Miami Senior High School, where she tutored children, received the Comcast scholarship, and won a stateside writing competition sponsored by The Stock Market Game program. She entered FIU's undergraduate program in Political Science in 2012 and became involved with the FIU College Democrats as well as CASO. She also served as legal assistant to the SG Law Group and the Law Offices of Sandra Murado.

Next fall Anigladys will enroll at FIU's College of Law, where she plans to specialize in criminal or constitutional law.
