Katie L. Coldiron is the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Librarian at FIU Libraries. In this role, she maintains FIU Libraries’ circulating collection of Latin American and Caribbean library materials, conducts instructional sessions and research consultations, and leads the FIU Libraries’ Outreach Hub for the Digital Library of the Caribbean (dLOC).

She holds an M.S. in Information Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, an M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of Florida, and a B.A. in Anthropology/Sociology from Centre College in Kentucky. Katie is also pursuing a PhD in History at FIU, with a dissertation titled “Conflict, Contact, and Control: The Rise of Cuban Studies After 1959.” Her research has been supported by the Seminar on the Acquisition of Latin American Library Materials (SALALM), the University of Miami Cuban Heritage Collection, and the Hoover Institution Library & Archives.
