Lourdes Martin, LCSW, is a clinical instructor in the Robert Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work at Florida International University. She is also the social work coordinator of the Green Family Foundation (GFF) Neighborhood HELP in the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
Ms. Martin is a licensed clinical social worker in the State of Florida. She earned her master's and bachelor's degrees in social work at Florida International University. Her clinical practice has focused on crisis intervention and trauma-response related to sexual victimization, intimate partner/domestic violence, stalking, and campus violence. She also has extensive experience working on interprofessional teams providing community-based mental health care.
Ms. Martin has been instrumental and continues to be responsible for the integration of FIU social sork students in GFF Neighborhood HELP interprofessional teams. Additionally, Ms. Martin teaches in the interprofessional curricular components of GFF Neighborhood HELP. Prior to her current appointment, Ms. Martin served as associate director of the FIU Victim Advocacy Center.
