Jorge Salazar-Carrillo, Ph.D., is professor emeritus in the Department of Economics at Florida International University.
Professor Salazar-Carrillo holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley. He also holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Miami. His fields of expertise include international economics and economic development. His research has covered all fields of economics, both in developed and underdeveloped countries. He has authored or coauthored over ninety books and hundreds of articles in professional journals and book chapters. Currently, his research interests concern the recent economics of Asia and Latin America (including Cuba), and U.S. macro and microeconomics.
