Karen S. Veloz, Ph.D. is Director of the Wertheim School of Music at Florida International University.
Dr. Veloz has published articles and is currently writing her second book in the field of Arts Administration and Music Business. She has produced CDs, been executive music producer for over 75 concerts. Prior to coming to FIU, she was the national press representative for Broadway Shows produced in New York City and nationwide. She has presented in many national and international conferences.
Most recently, she curated the inaugural Arts & Policy Conference located in the FIU in DC office in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Veloz holds a Ph.D. in Public Affairs (Arts Administration Policy) from Florida International University, and M.F.A. in Arts Management from Florida Atlantic University, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance from Florida International University.
