CRI Director to Lecture in Chile

The Department of Anthropology of the Alberto Hurtado University in Santiago de Chile has invited Dr. Jorge Duany to participate in a series of academic events during the week of September 30 to October 4, 2013. Chile's National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (FONDECIT) will fund Dr. Duany's trip to Chile, under a project on Peruvian transnational migration, directed by Dr. Walter Imilan.

Dr. Duany will give a talk titled "Blurred Borders: Transnational Migration between the Hispanic Caribbean and the United States" at the XXIX Congress of the Latin American Sociological Association (ALAS) as well as participate in a workshop on migration research and meet with university students during his stay in Santiago.
