Student Awards for Summer Institute for Latino Public Policy

FIU's Cuban Research Institute (CRI) and Latin American and Caribbean Center (LACC) are pleased to announce the recipients of the student awards to attend the 2013 Summer Institute for Latino Public Policy (SILPP). The institute is a one-week intensive training and orientation to public policy and legislative processes through a series of seminars, workshops, site visits to national organizations, and meetings with Congressional representatives in Washington, D.C. This year's institute will be held on June 16–21, 2013 and will focus on immigration, health, and culture policy.

CRI and LACC will sponsor two outstanding undergraduate students to represent FIU at the institute:

  • Alice Milagre, International Relations/Philosophy
  • Abel Ramos Taype, Politics and International Relations/Anthropology
