Lourdes Martin

Lourdes Martin, LCSW, is a Clinical Instructor in the Robert Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work at Florida International University. She is also the Social Work Coordinator of the Green Family Foundation (GFF) Neighborhood HELP in the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.

Ms. Martin is a licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Florida. She earned her master's and bachelor's degrees in Social Work at Florida International University. Her extensive clinical expertise is chronic psychiatric illness in adults and victimization and trauma in both adults and children. Her areas of interest include intimate partner violence, mental health issues, interprofessional collaboration, human rights and equality, and cultural diversity.

Ms. Martin has been instrumental and continues to be responsible for the integration of FIU Social Work students in GFF Neighborhood HELP interprofessional teams. Additionally, Ms. Martin teaches in the interprofessional curricular components of GFF Neighborhood HELP. Prior to her current appointment, Ms. Martin served as Associate Director of the FIU Victim Advocacy Center.
