Rita M. Cauce

Rita M. Cauce, M.A., M.S., is Head of the Cataloging Department at Florida International University Libraries.

Ms. Cauce holds a Master of Arts in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida and a Master of Science in Educational Media from Nova Southeastern University. Born in Cuba and raised in Miami and Spain, she had the opportunity to return and work in Spain for ten years when she was hired by Schiller International University, Madrid, to serve as Instructor and Librarian. Right before coming to FIU, Ms. Cauce served as the Assistant Director for Technical Services at Barry University Library. While at Barry, she coauthored a grant proposal with the Barry University Archivist, Dorothy Jehle, to raise funds to process and organize the recently received Monsignor Bryan O. Walsh / Operation Pedro Pan Papers. Her work with this collection resulted in her article published by Tequesta: The Journal of History Miami in 2012, commemorating Operation Pedro Pan's 50th anniversary. Ms. Cauce has also created a research guide to Operation Pedro Pan resources for the FIU Libraries website.
